ABOUT US
Atlas photonics is a spin-off of the University of Fribourg, and was created in 2005 by scientists from the Faculty of Science. With the support of various private and public institutions, it was incorporated and started its commercial operation in 2006. The close proximity of the Plateau de Pérolles, the Fribourg Scientific Park, is a clear asset for Atlas Photonics, thus benefiting from a highly multidisciplinar scientific environment. Its core products are the LUMOS photoreactors family.
WHY LIGHT ?
Photochemistry is the transformation of matter using light instead of chemical reagents. Light has many economical and ecological advantages over traditional reagents: it is cheaper, safer, does not produce industrial wastes. With the introduction of our new series of UV sources, it is also now very easy to set up and operate.
There should be a LUMOS reactor on every bench!
WHY LED’s ?
UV light was traditionally generated by mercury lamps. In addition to significant danger for health and environment, a limited lifetime and limited choice of spectral lines or monochromaticity. Our new LED-based reactors offer a wide selection of sharp spectral lines (<10 nm), extended lifetime (50000 hours) and harmless operation.
There should be a LUMOS reactor on every bench!
SIZE IT UP !
Our standard photoreactor is designed to fit standard 1 cm testtubes or square cuvettes, making it ideal for testing photochemical reactions up to 100 mg. Upon request, custom made reactors can be designed for higher scales.
